Job Description:
Apex is seeking a CMM Technician to join a company located near the Norristown, PA area.
Summary of Key Duties for this position:
- Mechanical/electrical fabrication of flight and ground support hardware.
- Electronic, mechanical, or electromechanical assembly.
- Perform a variety of hands-on assembly tasks ranging from repetitive to nonrepetitive production assembly operations.
- Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies under simulated conditions.
- Work as a member of a team communicating technical issues to Manufacturing / Quality Engineers while supporting corrective actions.
- Ability to be trained to perform all duties in accordance with training requirements, such as hand soldering, bonding, harness fabrication, module assembly and black box level assembly.
Basic Qualifications:
- Mechanical dexterity.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and parts lists.
- Ability to pass JSTD-001 certification, SSC JSTD001MAP Solder OPER Certification, SSC NASA Polymerics Operator Certification and SSC NASA Cable/Harness, Operator Certification.
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Desired skills:
- Conformal Coating experience
- JSD-001 certification.
- Able to read drawings and measurements
- Proficiencies with epoxies and structural adhesives
- Attention to detail
- Mechanically inclined
- Operate cutting tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, drills and rotary tools with proficiency
- Basic technological and mathematical proficiency
- Passionate about their work and takes pride in delivering high-quality hardware
- Solid computer skills, competent with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
- Preferred candidate should be proficient with VE-CAMS and SAP.
- 2 years’ experience in the industry.
