Full Job Description
The RiverSource team Business Architect will create exceptional experiences for our clients and advisors, enabled through technology and rooted in our enterprise strategy. Bring a strategic, enterprise viewpoint to deliver interconnected end-to-end experiences, bridging the gap between business strategy and its successful execution, and assuring delivery of desired business outcomes. Assist in improving the customer experience by gathering customer insights, analyzing data, mining information across all customer touchpoints and channels and translating it into actionable activities.

This position is located in Minneapolis and offers a hybrid schedule (three days in office).

Key Responsibilities

  • Use business architecture tools and techniques in a variety of business scenarios to assess areas for improvement and changes necessary to carry out strategy. This includes capability assessments, solution analysis, investment prioritization, and road-mapping.
  • Aligning AI and automation initiatives with the company's business goals and strategies. This involves understanding the business needs and identifying opportunities where AI and automation can add value.
  • Designing AI and automation driven solutions to improve various aspects of the Insurance and Annuity business.
  • Working closely with stakeholders, including data scientists, IT teams, and business leaders, to ensure AI and automation solutions meet business requirements and are effectively integrated into existing systems.
  • Leading the implementation of AI and automation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the desired outcomes.
  • Continuously monitoring the performance of AI and automation systems and making necessary adjustments to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Staying updated with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning and automation to continuously innovate and improve AI and automation solutions.
  • Assist with the creation of journey maps and other analytical visuals used to convey the customer perspective.
  • Support projects and operations to deliver on agreed-upon business outcomes.
  • Build knowledge of industry, technology, and end-user trends and educate both IT and the business on opportunities. Participate in Proof of Concept and Prototype initiatives to demonstrate potential value.
  • Advocate a Customer-Centric Culture. Lead by example by being an advocate for the Customer Experience across the organization.
  • Become a trusted business partner on business architecture matters. Assess innovative technologies that drive the business forward and maintain or create a competitive advantage for the firm. Ensure that the business architecture and customer experience strategy align to and enable business goals.
  • Participate in cross-functional design teams and group discussions. Gather input about customer experiences and opportunities for improvement. Understand key drivers of VoC performance.
  • Develop and apply knowledge of related business capabilities, customer and market requirements, as well as enterprise and business architecture discipline. Build and maintain a strong business unit relationship, with expertise and insight into the business, the business strategy, and the industry. Gain knowledge and understanding of emerging technologies. Support the delivery of concept analysis work to evaluate opportunities and design solutions to support and inform domain and capability road maps.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience required.
  • 3+ years relevant experience, including impact analysis, solution design, project delivery, business requirements, competitive and industry research, process documentation.
  • Proven track record of implementing AI solutions in a business context.
  • Strong understanding of AI and machine learning concepts.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to align AI initiatives with business goals
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel and Visio.
  • Experience supporting or leading business process improvement/optimization/re-engineering initiatives or projects.
  • Knowledge of basic architectural principles with an aptitude to learn methods and tools to solve for business challenges.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to convey complex information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with peers.
  • Is resourceful and has an aptitude to learn quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Agile and Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • AI certifications preferred.
  • Experience supporting Agile projects.
  • Experience supporting large projects during all phases.
  • Ability to think strategically and understand the difference between long and short term priorities.
  • High level understanding of business operations and key business drivers.
  • Demonstrated success working in highly collaborative environment with ability to lead.
