Job Summary/Objective:
Sweet Briar College invites applications for full-time, tenure-track Associate Professor of Political Science beginning Fall 2025. We seek candidates with experience beyond the Ph.D., including a record of exceptional teaching at the undergraduate level and evidence of an active research agenda and scholarly publications. Candidates should have research and teaching interests in American politics but be prepared to teach courses in international relations and national security studies. The successful incumbent will also have the opportunity to make contributions to our womens leadership and core curriculum. Our teaching load is 3 course equivalents per semester.
The successful candidate will be an engaged teacher-scholar who will arrive ready to lead and transform the Political Science program. They will work closely with colleagues in the Social Science and Humanities Division, be a vibrant participant in campus life, and will mentor undergraduates on research and in pursuit of careers in public service, academe, or the professions.
