Job Description

Associate Director, Quality Assurance (SS&C Technologies, Inc., San Francisco, CA): The Associate Director, Quality Assurance is an experienced leader in test automation. They will directly manage a global team of QA Engineers and Software Development Engineers in Test to ensure the company’s platform meets end-user functional and design requirements. Specific responsibilities include: Leading a global SDET/QA team with objectives and key results, responsible for their career development. Architecting, designing, and leading automating testing infrastructure and testing strategy to support cloud continuous integration and continuous delivery. Revolutionizing test infrastructure and continually evaluate toolsets and methodologies to support CI/CD. Collaborating with other senior leaders or executives to establish and ensure the achievement of strategic plans and objectives. Focusing more on designing and developing scalable end to end testing frameworks for data stores, data pipelines, services, and web front-end; doing data validation automation, perform API load testing, system security and data security testing. Using Engineering skill sets to solve testing problems with high performance and scalability. Researching and prototyping new tools to drive architectural decisions. Assessing and understanding the flow of code and its interaction with various processes to optimize the automation framework. Implementing processes for software development, code reviews, continuous integration, testing and deployment to ensure high code quality and system stability. Evaluating existing automation frameworks and define clear steps and processes to improve testing procedures. Recommending and executing on continuous improvement of the requirements definition, development, and quality assurance processes. Telecommuting permitted. Must reside within commuting distance from SS&C’s San Francisco office.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field plus 5 years of relevant experience in software engineering. Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree or equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field plus 3 years of relevant experience in software engineering.

Must have: Demonstrated experience managing direct reports with various experience levels in a Quality organization. 3 years of experience in software development with deep understanding of programming languages such as Python, Java, Java Script, SQL. 3 years of experience working in a rapid-pace, CI/CD environment. 3 years of experience with implementing cloud testing strategies and quality gates. 3 years of experience defining and implementing standards for integration, performance, regression, and/or acceptance testing and early adopter programs based on industry best practices and quality objectives. 3 years of experience with GIT and source control. 3 years of experience in data pipeline testing such as ETL tests, data warehouse tests, etc. 3 years of experience in BDD, Playwright, Locust and other testing platforms. Strong written and verbal skills. Great collaboration skills with engineering and product leadership. Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures. Proficient in CI/CD pipeline development.

Salary: $160,139 to $240,000 year
