You must be able to work one day a week onsite in Addison, Texas in order to qualify for this position. The incumbent will be required to print physical checks from the Corporate office in Addison, Texas.

Position Overview

Treehouse Builders seeks a dynamic Accounts Payable Specialist to join our construction accounting team.  Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of experience supporting the accounting team in the review and presentation of accurate, timely, and relevant accounts payable processing.  The Accounts Payable Specialist will oversee the day-to-day invoice transactions, perform check runs, assist in monthly AP accrual, and participate in other functions as outlined below.  A strong attention to detail and a flexible attitude are key attributes we are seeking.  Experience within residential home building is a requirement.  This role will require one day in the office located in Addison, Texas.

What You Will Do

• Perform all aspects of the accounts payable process, including but not limited to:

+ Entering and routing invoices for approval.
+ Setting up new vendors and collecting W-9’s and insurance COI’s.
+ Enter project, cost code, and general ledger coding on invoices.
+ Perform research on any questions or issues with invoices.
+ Perform bi-monthly auto-voucher process from BuildPro.
+ Performs check runs.
+ Oversee collection of conditional lien waivers generated through BuildPro

+ Void checks as necessary

• Perform annual 1099 audit and document preparation.
• Review aging report for outstanding invoices.
• Assist in creating, streamlining, and improving accounts payable process.
• Perform all other duties as directed and assist the overall team effort in any way possible.
• Occasional travel may be necessary as needed
• Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned by management
• Must be able to complete all physical requirements of this role with or without a reasonable accommodation

Ideally, you'll have

• Residential home building experience is a requirement.
• BuildPro, a Hyphen product, is a plus
• 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience in residential home building.
• Detail-oriented and ability to problem solve, research, and multi-task.
• Understanding of basic principles of accounting (i.e. general ledger coding and accruals).
• Understanding of government requirements with W9’s and 1099’s. 
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must have excellent organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

• Brix, a Hyphen product, or similar ERP system
• Ability to build internal and external business relationships
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to accurately work under pressure and meet deadlines.
