Wild Dunes Resort
The art gallery manager shall always strive to provide exceptional service to internal and external guests. An art gallery manager is primarily responsible for maintaining and improving the artistic and commercial success of the Resort’s art gallery. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Wild Dunes Resort Culture and promoting Wild Dunes Resort as both the Best-in-Class Destination and Employer of Choice!
Duties to include, but not limited to:
- Development of relationships with both artists and clients
- Assessing and curating artwork
- Creating and executing marketing strategies to increase sales and customer base
- Advertising artists and collection
- Organizing and promoting exhibits, installations, and events
- Developing and maintaining relationships with artists and clientele
- Maintaining sale records, inventories, budgets, artist payouts, financial reporting, etc
- Develop social media for the Gallery, events, represented artists, and website
- Website development and daily management
- Supervising and training gallery staff
- Developing and responsible for the department’s budget
- Attend department and property meetings
- Perform general office duties and assist other personnel as required
The colleague is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned.
Experience & Education:
- A high school diploma is required
- Bachelor’s degree in fine arts, art history, or art-related field preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in art related field preferred
- Working knowledge of a gallery or hotel/resort is preferred
- Experience in fine art sales or luxury sales
- Experience with computers
Qualifications
Job REQUIRMENTS:
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Bachelor’s degree in fine arts, art history, or business management degree
- Must have strong financial and business management competence
- Must be able to perform in a highly confidential environment
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Must have strong computer skills
- Must have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, POS systems, inventory systems, and Shopify
- The knowledge base of packing + shipping artwork
- Must be able to work well under pressure
- Must be able to follow instructions, both verbally and written accurately
- Must be highly orientated
- Must have strong organizational skills
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must have excellent listening skills
- Must possess excellent communication skills
- Must be professional in appearance and demeanor
- Must always ensure a teamwork environment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and colleagues
- Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
- Must be able to deal with many personality types professionally.
- Employees hired at Wild Dunes Resort will be verified through the federal E-Verify system.
Working CONDITIONS:
- Must be able to sit for long periods
- Must be able to frequently perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements.
- Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces occasionally.
- While primarily an indoor job, one must be able to walk outside in various weather conditions (rain, wind, heat).
- Must be able to climb stairs occasionally, indoors and outside, in various weather conditions (rain, wind, heat).
- Ability to handle, move, and hang art, lift 40 pounds, climb a 3 ft ladder, and stand for extended periods.
