The Applications Training Specialist will be an integral part of the health information technology (HIT) Team and will work closely with the Manager of Applications, clinical applications and training (CAT) leadership team, human resources, and subject matter experts (SMEs), enterprise wide to develop, schedule, deliver, and optimize the HIT Software Training program, primarily the electronic health record (EHR). This position will lead the development of training materials, provide new end-user training for clinical applications, version updates and perform duties as assigned related to all aspects of clinical applications technology. This position is also responsible for evaluating training analytics, managing the Learning Management System (LMS), and identifying training inefficiencies to develop improvements where possible.
Essential Functions
- Aids in the design of curriculum to include the development of instructional manuals, classroom exercises, learning activities, and eLearning course development.
- Participates in pilot trials, tests, or validation teams to uphold system data integrity and ensure training alignment.
- Builds and maintains a repository of updated training materials and end-user resources as it pertains to clinical applications.
- Delivers training for clinical application features, functionality, workflows, enhancements, and upgrades.
- Assesses end-user productivity to ensure clinical application processes, workflows, and procedures are understood and being followed.
- Travels to clinics for organizational training needs.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field, nursing, business, education, computer/information science or related field or three (3) years of clinical experience with electronic health records and expertise in planning, organizing, and facilitating training programs and a HS Diploma.
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in project management.
- Electronic health records training of providers and clinical staff in the EHR or other clinical support functions.
- Knowledge of adult learning theory and assessment development.
- Experience with facilitated learning.
- LMS management experience and knowledge of e-learning authoring software.
