We are seeking a highly motivated candidate in Analytical Research and Development (AR&D) to partner with the leadership team and the broader organization in executing critical business functions and support the strategy and operation of the organization. Excellent communication and presentation skills are required and a demonstrated ability to collaborate across departmental boundaries is essential. This role will provide direct support to the Vice President of AR&D and key components of the position include (but are not limited to) coordination and organization of departmental staff meetings and key departmental reviews; progression, compilation and realization of the AR&D priorities; sponsorship and leadership of select priorities and committees (e.g. compliance, training curricula); execution of the AR&D communication strategy (e.g newsletter, digital tools); influencing alignment and interdependence of the AR&D leadership team and extended leadership team. This position will have a significant component representing the AR&D function on key strategic initiatives and oversight committees, and a variety of opportunities for cross departmental collaboration (e.g. Finance, Quality, Procurement...). The position will have responsibility over the realization of AR&D operation excellence targets, including the selection and tracking of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams, initiative to seek solutions to critical business processes and a strong financial and business acumen. Additionally, the candidate will have demonstrated strengths in building the best teams and engage strongly in driving an inclusive culture for the organization.

  • Travel: 15% travel. With an expectation to travel to Rahway or West Point campuses on an ongoing basis.

  • Location: US - Rahway, NJ or Upper Gwynedd, PA

Education:

  • BS degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry or related disciplines with at least 12 years of experience in industry or academia or a MS degree in chemistry biology, biochemistry or related disciplines with at least 8 years of experience or a PhD degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry or related disciplines and 6 years of experience in industry or academia.

Required:

  • Communication Skills- excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Flexibility - Ability to work in ambiguous situations, formulate a plan, focus on what matters, drive outcomes, and speak up and be open-minded.

  • Technical Expertise - Proven knowledge and understanding of CMC deliverables.

  • Strategy Realization - Demonstrated understanding and experience with the key CMC activities and work processes from which to identify strategic improvements, review with departmental leaders, and progress to implementation.

  • Decision making - Demonstrated ability to use judgement and EQ to determine what decisions should be escalated to Department Leadership or HR for consideration

  • Self-Motivated - Developing and keeping timelines in advance of key activities to assure key milestones and decision points are met and drafts are shared with key stakeholders to shape content to meet needs/demonstrate evolving vision of Leadership.

  • Sense of Urgency - Independently driving progress and action closure from organizational and leadership feedback.

  • Collaboration - Identifying best practices, or applying best practices when identified by others, from other organizations into the work we do.

  • Leadership - demonstrated ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated experience in analytical platforms and technologies would be an added benefit but not required.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, Monday - Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence.This Hybrid work model does not apply to, and daily in-person attendance is required for, field-based positions; facility-based, manufacturing-based, or research-based positions where the work to be performed is located at a Company site; positions covered by a collective-bargaining agreement (unless the agreement provides for hybrid work); or any other position for which the Company has determined the job requirements cannot be reasonably met working remotely. The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected US salary range:

$169,700.00 - $267,200.00
