Responsibilities*
Von Voigtlander Womens Clinic:
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Von Voigtlander Womens Clinic provides consultation, comprehensive treatment and a broad range of services and procedures for patients with normal and high-risk pregnancies and for a broad range of gynecologic specialty services. The clinic team includes physicians, advanced practice providers, midwives, nurses, medical assistants, social workers, dietitians, as well as a multifunctional administrative/clerical team.
Job duties include:
- Complete history and physical examinations; order appropriate diagnostic studies; synthesize information and make informed clinical decisions; develop appropriate care plans; and be responsive to patient and family preferences
- Provide recommendations using current medical information and scientific evidence based practice
- Predominantly gynecological care focused, with some obstetrics care
- GYN Care Focuses:
- Health maintenance examinations
- Expertise in the evaluation and management of common gynecologic concerns such as contraceptive management, abnormal uterine bleeding, acute vaginitis, etc.
- Office procedures such as LARC, vulvar biopsies, pessary maintenance
- Management of vulvar conditions
- Management of prolapse/urinary incontinence such as lifestyle counseling, medication management, and pessary exchange and maintenance
- OB Care Focuses:
- Routine, low risk prenatal care of shared patients
- Basic ultrasound: fetal heart tones, fetal position
Required Qualifications*
NP:
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner recognized by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner specialty certification in the State of Michigan.
- Current specialty certification: Family Nurse Practitioner, Women's Health Nurse Practitioner.
- Current DEA registration required.
- ACLS or BLS certified by the American Heart Association required.
- 2 years of recent APP experience, within the last 5 years, in an ambulatory care setting with primary focus on Gynecology.
PA:
- Satisfactory completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or one of its predecessor agencies, CAHEA or CAAHEP.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan.
- State of Michigan Controlled Substance License required.
- Current DEA registration required.
- ACLS or BLS certified by the American Heart Association required.
- 2 years of recent APP experience, within the last 5 years, in an ambulatory care setting with primary focus on Gynecology.

- 2 years of NP or PA of ambulatory care experience.
- Ambulatory OB experience as an APP
- Ability to perform clinical duties independently while serving as part of a larger care team
- Demonstrated ability to complete history and physical examinations; order appropriate diagnostic studies; synthesize information and make informed clinical decisions; develop appropriate care plans; and be responsive to patient and family preferences
- Demonstrated communication and customer service excellence with patients, family, staff, and physicians
- Must demonstrate a high level of critical thinking and medical knowledge by using current medical information and scientific evidence-based practice for patient care
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize assignments and manage a busy work environment
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate clinical care ideas across multiple patient care services and to communicate assertively as a patient advocate
- Demonstrated ability to carryout professional responsibilities, adherence to ethical principles and sensitivity to diversity
- Computer skills including, but not limited to electronic medical record documentation and electronic order entry, EPIC/MiChart preferred.
- Comfortable conducting virtual care
- Experience in caring for low-risk pregnant persons; outpatient antenatal care
- Experience performing basic ultrasound: fetal heart tones, fetal position

Work Schedule
Hours: 40 hours per week at the Von Voigtlander Womens Clinic, possibly other Michigan Medicine ObGyn outpatient locations in the future
