SUMMARY
Under general supervision, the Accounts Payable Representative compiles and maintains accounts payable records. Prepares bills, invoices, statements, and vouchers for payment. Prepares checks for signature and approval. Ensures timely and accurate payment to vendors. Reconciles bills, checks balance, follows up on discrepancies and maintains vendor files.
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalency certificate (e.g. GED, HiSET, TASC Test) from an accredited institution or governmental unit required.
EXPERIENCE
1-3 years relevant experience, preferably with automated accounts payable process required.
SKILLS
Complete understanding of purchase orders and their relation to A/P and purchasing required. Knowledge of accounting software and accounting principles required. Familiarity with spreadsheets and word processing applications, and Internet applications required. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact successfully with internal and external clients required. Strong organizational skills required.
